Election Results

Can anyone tell me the Election Results and what it means to La Marina?. Do we have a new Mayor/Mayoress and can we now see fair play for all the Conurbation.

La Marina

The silence is deafening know matter where you look information is sketchy . I was wondering how Marks lot got on, but can’t remember which his party is. They all seem to have Ps in them.

Robert!
We certainly have a new mayor. He comes from Alicante and I therefore ask you how he will benefit the relationship between San Fulgencio and Urb. La Marina. Mind you I read in here somewhere that he will grace the Urb. with his prescence twice a month!

Angelique, I am not sure why my spelling is of any concern to you? I thought this website was for people to be able to express their views and discuss things that are relevent to this area. If you have an opinion regarding a topic on here then you are free to comment but as for the personal comments..........butt out lady!

Nikki to put your mind at rest,I was speaking to a computer nerd friend of mine, and apparently,on forums you get people who are known as trolls,it is there aim in life to get into print on forums as much crap as possible, they are not being vindsictive to any one person, but their aim in life is to annoy as many people on that forum as possible,so that the ordinary person stops going onto that forum,(Sad but true)I think that everything I have written has been contradicted by the same person, but they have not had a pop at me personally.I have already learned to treat this person with the contempt they deserve, and I am sure if we all did the same they would crawl down a hole and join the rest of the hapless trolls.I am here for the long term,I hope you are to

Events calender

Is it possible to extend the tables in the events calender? There are obviously some events going on that one cant make out.

La Marina

Hi
The system is to CLICK the date you are interested in and all Events for that date come up in a new screen

Commented Ian in La Marina 2011-06-21 16:33:03 UTC

Yes I have already asked the Technical Dept to make the boxes larger, and also to tell people to click the date (top right) of the box, so all the events are then shown. As so many people are now advertising their forthcoming events there now it does need tidying up a bit. This will be sorted soon.

Commented Carol in La Marina 2011-06-21 17:56:37 UTC

Hi Ian, I hear what your saying but me, I like to look at whats going on in the month as an event and not particularly the date if you get my meaning. (difficult one I Know!!)

Commented Malika in La Marina 2011-06-21 19:13:28 UTC

I do not understand what you are saying Malcolm. The whole months of June, July, August etc are up on the Event Calendar, so you can look at whichever date in which month you wish to find out what is going on.

Commented Carol in La Marina 2011-06-21 20:51:18 UTC

Its difficult sometimes to make things clear but as I commented before, I couldn't quite see some of the events posted due to lack of space, and I like to see what kind of event is going on rather than the date it is on. Hope this makes sense now.

Commented Malika in La Marina 2011-06-22 14:35:58 UTC

I agree with Malcolm much better use can be made of this wall to spread information on events/activities. Good point Malcolm!

La Marina Animal Welfare New Website

La marina animal welfare is pleased to announce the website is finally up and running. Please take a look at it, read through our pages enjoy the website. It is www.lmaw.eu feed back is always welcomed.

La Marina

Andrew, having looked at your La Marina Animal Welfare web site I can't help
but wonder why you are asking for the animal ambulance to be shared between
yourselves and K9 when it is clearly stated on your web site that you DO NOT
take in abandoned animals! You specify that you are an animal welfare
charity, but you do not take in any strays! How can you justify your request
for a share in using the animal ambulance rescue vehicle when, by your own
admission, you cannot take in any abandoned animals!

Commented Julie in La Marina 2011-06-20 17:40:29 UTC

yes i hear what you are saying i was trying to bring it across in the way if it was shared with volunteers, volunteers do it in there own time and probably sometimes there isnt enough volunteers so sharing it in a way as everyone gets together to organise a clear rota. It must be hectic for K9 trying to get volunteers and it would take pressure off of everyone involved in this matter. I could be wrong but, it would be less stress if everyone helped eachother

Commented Andi in La Marina 2011-06-21 08:24:14 UTC

Im pretty sure K9 (the only charity on the Urb that rescue abandoned animals) have it all in hand as they have been doing a fantastic job collecting the strays from the streets and I applaud Mark Lewis for setting up such a fantastic service, if it wasn't for him cereco would still have the contract!

Commented Julie in La Marina 2011-06-21 10:48:34 UTC

Andi,
I note your comments on your desire for all animal charities to co-operate. Perhaps you can tell us why K9 who previously shared the charity shop with yourselves no longer do so?

Commented Angelique in La Marina 2011-06-27 17:44:26 UTC

K9 contract

when we had the meeting with K9 last week, we discovered that there is no actual contract found in the records of the Town Hall. It would appear that it was only a verbal agreement. However it was agreed with Brenda that bills would still be paid. It was intimated that to continue, a new contract would have to be drawn up.

So now what your saying is Jeff that K9 did not have a legal contract it was just a verbal contract. I like you Jeff your doing something councillors dont often do and thats tell it how it is. So why was the public never informed before regarding K9 didnt have a legal contract with San Fulgencio. Well things are coming to light now. one thing i would like to ask jeff is, if your paying K9 bills and there is no legal contract what about SATS will you pay there bills seeing as they try to re-home animals too and have kennels to keep running

Commented Mark.S in La Marina 2011-06-24 07:55:17 UTC

This topic is getting very boring now. Please somebody start a chat about something other than animals PLEASE !!!!

Commented Carol in La Marina 2011-06-24 09:57:22 UTC

Hi Jeff, We know that you are on holiday at the moment, but Brenda had a meeting with the mayor this morning, and he confirmed that they do have their copy of the existing contract with K9 regarding the Ambulance Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Commented Pauline in La Marina 2011-06-24 14:42:36 UTC

It has been brought to my attention that within a few days of taking over the San Fulgencio Town Hall the new coalition government team, which includes Jeff Wisniewski, called Cereco Pound in Crevillente and arranged for them to collect any abandoned animals found in the San Fulgencio municipality, an arrangement that will see them coming here in their vans to collect all stray, lost and abandoned animals. They are being taken to Crevillente, many of them never to be seen again. The Cereco pound has a policy of killing dogs and cats not claimed or rehomed. Most people know that in 2007 the then new councillor for animal welfare, Mark Lewis, cancelled the contract that this Town Hall had with Cereco pound due to their very bad reputation and because the conditions that the animals are
kept in at this pound was horrific. Can Mr. Wiszniewski please tell us why he has not told the truth regarding K9, their contract with the Town Hall and the animal ambulance. He first claimed that the keys to the animal ambulance were taken from the K9 animal welfare volunteers because the ITV
certificate had expired, but the ITV had not expired. He then posted on this forum that K9 do not have a contract with the Town Hall. However, the Mayor has since confirmed that K9 do in fact have a contract with the Town Hall to collect, care for and re-home abandoned animals found in this area. On this forum Mr. Wiszniewski also assured the K9 volunteers that they would soon be once again collecting lost and abandoned animals. Yesterday, the local police chief confirmed that they have been told not to contact the K9 volunteers when animals are found in the municipality, he confirmed that the local police have been instructed to call the Cereco pound to instruct them to come here to collect all animals!

Julie its called Life ok. Human beings are more important than animals ok. So thats that. Instead of focuisng all your attention on home-less dogs and cats try that on kids who are left by there parents or abused. Its not all about the animals anymore.

Commented Mark.S in La Marina 2011-06-27 16:46:24 UTC

Write a new contract so that The Ivory Tower has a record and then ask our politicians what the problem is?

Commented Angelique in La Marina 2011-06-27 17:19:52 UTC

Hi mark, this is not just about animals, its about being lied to by the council from day 1. Will you be so forgiving when we lose something else because the council need to make cut backs. You stated earlier that they sacked the 2 employees from the town hall because they are in debt but how can they justify that when they took on 5 new employees, paying them more than double what the previous employees were getting and paying 40,000€ more a year in wages to themselves and employees! All we want is the truth and not be taken for idiots who believe everything they say.

SHORTAGE OF SNOOKER CLUBS

I am an avid Snooker player and find it extremely difficult to find many clubs around in and around the Rojales/Quesada/Torrevieja areas. I know there are a couple in Quesada, which we have tried and they are not bad, but they are not always opened on a sunday. So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Torrevieja

I agree as the only places my husband uses is the Green Baize or The Country Club, but he would also like to know if there are any others out there.
